Learn about alpacas and meet these gentle animals at your visit at Seaside Alpacas near Unionhall.
Lead an alpaca yourself on a guided walk along the coast with lovely views from Galley Head to Toehead and even walk them down to the little beach. Take part in our Alpaca Fibre Craft Workshop and even sit down on the spinning wheel if you like and learn to spin some alpaca yarn yourself.
Our farm visitor programs run all year round, usually starting at 2.30pm and on weekends, holidays and July and August they also run daily at 11am. Booking is essential !

@2.30pm : Walk to the Beach – introduction into alpacas, guided walk with an alpaca on the lead and feeding alpacas.
@4.00pm : Alpaca Fibre Craft Shop – processing alpaca fibre and hand spinning alpaca yarn.
On weekends and holidays all year round and DAILY IN JULY AND AUGUST ! :
@11am : Walk to the Beach – introduction into alpacas, guided walk with an alpaca on the lead and feeding alpacas.
@12.30pm : Alpaca Fibre Craft Shop – processing alpaca fibre and hand spinning alpaca yarn.
@2.30pm : Alpaca Stroll – introduction into alpacas, guided walk with an alpaca on the lead and feeding alpacas.

Details and prices for the regular programs :
– Walk to the beach (on weekdays only @2.30pm, but on weekends, holidays and JULI &AUGUST daily only @ 11am)
Meet the alpacas, learn about them and, guided by Benjamin, you take an alpaca on a scenic coastal walk all the way down to Trà an Oilean, the little beach opposite rabbit island, meeting the horses, sheep and hens on the way !
Price: 38 € per person/alpaca; 19€ for accompanying person, walking without alpaca (12 € for accomp. children), maximum 2 persons per alpaca, minimum age for accompanying children is 6 years, younger kids might need to be carried, toddlers and babies best in a carrier, minimum age for children to walk an alpaca alone is 12 years. Trail runs up and downhill through the fields with few steeper parts, not suitable for buggy, requires normal walking capabilities and fitness. No pets/dogs allowed on the program.
– Alpaca Fibre Craft Workshop – learn to spin alpaca yarn (on weekdays at @4pm all year round, but daily @12.30pm and @3.30pm on weekends, holidays and JULI &AUGUST )
Learn about the gorgeously soft alpaca fibre, the main purpose of alpaca breeding. Watch the process from the raw fibre to the hand spun yarn to the finished knit wear. Take a turn on the carding brushes and sit down on the spinning wheel yourself and let some soft alpaca fibre gently run through your fingers turning it into lovely yarn. We will guide you all along and teach you all about it !
